“Although I have not known Lee for very long, I have seen him escalate from a spiritual introduction to a full-fledged practitioner. Anyone that knows Lee knows he does nothing halfway—it’s not only all or nothing, it will also be the best. His book takes him from his initial introduction to spiritualism by his beloved grandmother when he was a child to his present day as a recognized, practicing healer. Those that study and know spirituality know one is not given healing gifts until they heal themselves . . . A true healer is not allowed to skip this step. Lee has worked on self-healing all his life. His book is fascinating in his description of his progress with connecting with the universe and trusting the information. Another law: you don’t truly connect unless you trust. The universe chooses healers very carefully and healers use different modalities to heal. I congratulate Lee and thank him for being a healer with colors! I am proud to call Lee friend and colleague.”

“Writing this book has been a multiyear undertaking, a driven and unwavering devotion to capture what he has learned and to share it with others. I am immensely proud of Lee for this accomplishment. How many people feel they have something to share, feel they have a book ‘in them’ and never pursue it? Too many to count. My heart is filled with pride and admiration for Lee; he followed his heart and his calling. Let us all follow his example.”

“This is a beautiful story of a man’s pursuit of connection with Spirit for the benefit of others. Just as people speak many different languages and dialects, so the Creator speaks to each of us in the language we understand best. The trick is to listen and you can develop that ability as you
would a muscle—with practice and repetition. Spirit led Lee to the expression and ritual that spoke to his heart, and this book can be an invaluable tool for you, too, to develop and think about your own. Create your own sacred space. Fill it with objects that are meaningful for you and that draw you closer to your own understanding of healing and spiritual development. Have fun! Be childlike and open to wonder. Believe it and you will see it! I wish you joy, love, peace, and health.”

“Color affects everyone and is connected to all aspects of our lives. We use color to describe our physical health, our emotional state, attitude, and our spiritual encounters.”

“Lee Hillberg has had a very full life: He was born in South Dakota during the Great Depression and remembers his family’s many deprivations; in the US Air Force he worked on complex radar equipment; and he was vice president of a major American corporation. So after retirement, having grown up in an area infused with Native American history and with a great love for nature, he undertook a personal study of the culture and traditions of Creek/Muskogee tribes in the Georgia and Alabama region where he was living. He became knowledgeable enough to give lectures about these groups. Through communion with his natural surroundings and connection with his inner guides, he acquired a spirit name, Red Eagle, was initiated as a shaman by his supernatural mentor, Ax. These experiences opened the way for Hillberg to become a healer, using color therapy as his tool. He enumerates different colors in all their subtleties in different disciplines, through chakras, auras, meditation and especially through observation of the natural world, his lifelong passion. He has found personal guidance for this work in contact with such experts as Ted Andrews, Carolyn Cummings, Carter Shephard, and Native American medicine man Jerry Lang.

Hillberg’s engaging account is thorough and well researched, and could readily serve as a guide for others interested in health and inner enrichment through color. He uses photos and diagrams to emphasize the etheric power of colors. He balances his facts with dreams and visions that he has had since childhood, when he had contact with his grandmother, a spiritual medium who could talk to departed souls. His book is more than a manual for the essentials of color therapy. As the title suggests, it is also a description of the path from ordinary perception to heightened, spiritualized awareness.”
